For that price you can pick up shampoo, conditioner, moisturiser, cleanser, bubble bath, body cream, toothpaste and more – in fact we reckon you could everything you need to see you through the year for just a couple of quid.

You’ll need to trawl the stores to find the best bargains as not all stores have all items – for instance there are Lancome Juicy Tubes for just £2.99!  They won’t last long.  Check out www.superdrug.com for a list of the top 300 SALE stores.

Not budget beauty… but beautiful…

This weekend the Daily Express picked out its best gadget buys and amongst the grey and silver machismo stood two little beauties from Superdrug.  A purple and pink diamante digi camera (12.99) and a lilac or pink DVD player (£9.99).  After all, who said technology had to be so grey?  Here is what the experts at the Express had to say:

BEST BARGAIN DVD PLAYER. Amazing value for a basic but compact hot pink DVD player which comes with a matching remote control and a scart lead. It doesn’t record, upscale DVDs to HD quality or have in-built Freeview.  Still it plays back DVDs perfectly well and at just a tenner has to be the best bargain on the high street”.

BEST BLINGING CAMERA.  With just 1.3 megapixels this digital camera can never hope to take a photo or video clip of decent quality.  However it looks so fabulously bling in bright purple with sparking pink crystals that it’s irresistible as a fun stocking filler for tweenie girls.”

GOSH lashes, £6, Superdrug

GOSH lashes, £6, Superdrug

This is the time of year when every woman is looking for time-saving tricks.  This morning’s Daily Mail gives its expert tips “No Time To Sleep?  Nothing gives you a wide awake look more quickly than false eyelashes.  This year Superdrug expects to sell more than 10,000 pairs every day in the run-up to Christmas”.  The paper gives tips on how to apply GOSH lashes.

1. Use liquid liner along the lash-line before applying lashes to help hide the join and give extra definition

2. The glue will dry transparently but use it sparingly and always apply to the lash, never the eyelid

3. Leave to set for around ten seconds after applying – this allows it to dry a little and will stop the lash slipping

CLIX at Superdrug

Also in this morning’s Mail the beauty team look at tricks to take you from the desk to the dance-floor and a top tip?  These clip in hair extensions from the team at Racoon – exclusively available at Superdrug.  How needs to spend ££££ on a celeb style mane when you can pick a pack of these up for £7.99?

Grazia this week tells readers about the ‘smart new beauty rules’.  The Beauty Director says “There are some things worth spending money on such as a luxe eye cream or a fabulous perfume for instance.  Then there are those bargains that give you a thrill because they work, or make you look like a million dollars.”

Picked out as a top thrill seeker is GOSH single eyeshadow in beautiful banana yellow.  Thrilling colour and thrilling price… just five new pounds at Superdrug.

festively fragrant

This weekend The Guardian did its famous beauty test and picked out festive fragranced pomegranate bath products.  Superdrug’s Naturals range was praised for its latherability (is that a word?) and, of course, bargain price….

“Slightly artficial aroma – intensely sweet smelling – but foams well and leaves skin feeling squeaky clean.  Festive ingredients and cheap as chips.  What more could you ask for?”  Nothing Miss Guardian tester, nothing at all.

Today’s Daily Express looks at the best gifts for her this Christmas.  I’d love to receive the Jo Malone fragrance trunk (£734… ouch) or the Christopher Kane Roberts radio (£199…. maybe next year).  But there on the page is one thing that everyone can splash out on – daliesque metallic lips containing lipgloss, masquerading as a handy key-ring.  And the price?  A bargaintastic 99p – less than one shiny pound – and it’s part of the three for the price of two offer at Superdrug!  Hurray!

That’s magic!

That's magic...

That's magic...

We love the beauty pages of Cosmopolitan – they’re just so friendly and you know they’re not going to be packed with creams and potions that cost more than the national debt (growing by the second apparently).

This month the director of the beauty pages tells readers about her favourite new beauty products and she picks out one of our new favourites – Eyeko Magic Eyeliner.  She says “just rub the nib across any eyeshadow and, hey, presto you’ve for yourself a liquid liner that lasts.  Wipe off the wand and it’s ready for another colour.  Brilliant!”

So if you need to cut back and can’t splash out on every colour eyeliner you’d like this winter, pick up the Eyeko Magic Eyeliner and the BeautyUK bargain eyeshadow palette and get ten coloured liners and ten bright shadows for just £6.48 (£3.49 for the liner and £2.99 for the shadows, both from Superdrug).
